Paul Catherall

Based in London, Paul has become renowned for his clean, sharp linocuts of architectural landmarks, exhibiting at numerous solo and group shows, as well as his figurative illustrations for high-profile clients.

Drawing inspiration from classic mid 20th Century poster design, propaganda art from the Soviet era and the work of artists including William Nicholson, Paul utilises his expert eye for composition and colour to create bold architectural prints of structures that are part of the everyday urban environment.

The subject of his prints have included controversial London buildings such as the Elephant and Castle Shopping Centre, The National Theatre and Telecom Tower, as well as celebrated landmarks such as Battersea Power Station, Tate Modern and New York’s Flatiron and Brooklyn Bridge.

In Paul's prints these become unique architectural constructs served by natural light - constantly transforming their shapes and silhouettes.

All of these linocuts are printed on 100% cotton acid free paper with oil based inks. All are limited editions and are signed and numbered.
